Coming Soon

Love Never Dies

The highly anticipated sequel to The Phantom of the Opera, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s latest project is shrouded in mystery. Lloyd Webber had pointed to an October opening, yet for reasons unclear, many expected Love Never Dies to take the Adelphi Theatre in May 2009. When this did not happen it was reported that the entire project had been pushed back to 2010. Apparently due to rethinks regarding special effects, Andrew Lloyd Webber apparently aims to recommence rehearsals in January 2010. The full score has been written and recording with a cast that includes Phantom’s Ramin Karimloo, The Little Mermaid’s Sierra Boggess, John Barrowman and Summer Strallen. It is unclear whether this cast will open the show.

The Wizard of Oz

Another Andrew Lloyd Webber production, The Wizard of Oz is to be cast on his fourth TV talent search. Lloyd Webber has reportedly won the rights to add new songs to the score of the iconic 1939 film in order to make it a complete stage musical. On TV, the idea is to cast a Dorothy and possibly a Toto, and Liza Minnelli has apparently been asked to join the judging panel. It is rumoured that the role of the Wicked Witch of the West has been offered to Elaine Paige. It is assumed that The Wizard of Oz will be in the West End by the Autumn of 2010.
