A Round Heeled Woman Transfers to the Aldwych Theatre

Cagney & Lacey star Sharon Gless takes the leading role in this heart-warming drama based on the best-selling book ‘A Round-Heeled Woman: my Late-life Adventures in Sex and Romance’ by Jane Juska. The show will transfer to the West End’s Aldwych Theatre later this month after winning rave reviews at the Riverside Studios. The story centres on retired Californian English teacher Jane Juska and her life changing decision to place a personal ad in her favourite periodical, The New York Review of Books.

A Remarkable Romantic Adventure

The ad read: “Before I turn 67 – next March – I would like to have a lot of sex with a man I like.  If you want to talk first, Trollope works for me.” She received 63 replies, from men aged between 32 and 84, and went on to write up her remarkable romantic experiences. Playwright Jane Prowse (Up on the Roof and The Pearl) discovered the work and approached Juska about creating a stage adaptation. The show ran in Miami, Florida from December 2010 to February 2011. The European premiere was held at the Riverside Studios, Hammersmith on 18th October 2011.
