All The Fun Of The Fair

The Garrick Theatre is to welcome the brand new musical All The Fun Of The Fair next April until September.

New Musical

Singer/songwriter David Essex has put his talents into writing a new musical for the West End, collaborating with Boogie Nights creator Jon Conway. The show is based on Essex’s 1975 album of the same name. Levi Lee (Essex) a fun fair owner who is recently widowed and father of a typical teenage son, is in store for danger and mystical times ahead as predicted by the gypsy fortune teller who just happens to be in him. The musical includes many of Essex’s well known songs, including a Winter’s Tale, Gonna Make You A Star, Rock On and the title track.

Essex is best known as a recording artist, with his career spanning four decades, clocking numerous hit singles and albums. Essex has also crossed over to West End, treading the boards as Jesus in Godspell in 1972 and Che in Evita in 1978. Since his West End stint he has combined his stage work with his recording career. All The Fun Of the Fair comes to the West End following a successful UK tour which included London’s New Wimbledon theatre earlier this year.
