Cassidy Janson Joins Avenue Q

Cassidy Janson is to become the newest tenant on the ramshackle Avenue Q, taking over the roles of Kate Monster and Lucy the Slut from 5 October 2009. Janson is a rising star in musical theatre with a recent credit in WICKED where she covered and appeared in the role of Elphaba.
Established Cast The roles of Kate Monster and Lucy the Slut are currently played by Julie Atherton who leaves to pursue other projects. Cassidy Janson will join cast members Joanna Ampil (Christmas Eve), Edward Baruwa (Gary Coleman), Daniel Boys (Princeton and Rod), Christopher Fry (Brian) and Mark Goldthrup (Trekkie Monster and Nicky).

Laugh-Out-Loud Show A grownup Sesame Street, Avenue Q’s eclectic mix of puppets and humans is a laugh-out-loud take on the journey of life. After moving into a building owned by former child star Gary Coleman, college graduate Princeton searches for his purpose. Along the way he meets an assortment of weird and wacky neighbours and finds distraction with a busty cabaret singer. Life is hard on Avenue Q but being jobless, homeless, bankrupt or gay is no reason not to break out into song!
