West End Theatre Breaks
Chicago has announced some forthcoming cast changes though, most significantly, Ruthie Henshall will extend her acclaimed run as ambitious chorus girl ‘Roxie Hart’. She will now stay in the musical until 17 April, extending her run by an additional two months.
Ruthie originated the role of ‘Roxie Hart’ back in 1997, for which she was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award. A long-established star of both Broadway and the West End, the former Dancing on Ice judge returned to Chicago in December. |
Significant Cast ChangesAdam Stafford joins the cast as long-suffering husband ‘Amos Hart’ direct from Chicago’s UK tour for performances from 1 March. Meanwhile, Anna-Jane Casey reprises to the role of murderess ‘Velma Kelly’, whilst Terence Maynard returns as lawyer ‘Billy Flynn’. |

A Story of Murder, Corruption and Greed!Chicago, the longest running Broadway musical to play in the West End, transferred to the Cambridge Theatre in 2006 where it recently celebrated an incredible 5,000 London performances.Chorus girl ‘Roxie Hart’ murders her lover and convinces her husband ‘Amos Hart’ to take the blame. When the truth comes out ‘Roxie’ is arrested and thrown into jail. However, the prospect of a ‘celebrity trial’, with her photograph splashed all over the papers, may just be the big-break ‘Roxie’ has been seeking! A sizzling score includes the songs ‘Razzle Dazzle’, ‘Mr Cellophane’ and ‘All That Jazz’. |
