A 300 strong cast, including Alfie Boe (Jean Jaljean), Norm Lewis (Javert), Matt Lucas (Thenardier) and Nick Jonas (Marius), will perform the show as part of the musical’s ongoing 25th anniversary celebrations.

Jonas Brothers star Nick got in some practice this week when he appeared for two nights in the original production at the Queens Theatre. Meanwhile, Matt Lucas will return to the stage for the first time since ‘Prick up Your Ears’ in 2009.

Broadcast Live by Vue Cinema Chain

The Cameron Mackintosh-backed production first opened in London in 1985 and three shows will run simultaneously to mark the event – including the UK tour at the Barbican (playing for a limited 20 night run) and the original show at the Queens Theatre.

The 02 Arena performance will be shown in over 160 cinemas in the UK, including the Vue chain, as well more than 1,100 screens around the world. After going out live, a rebroadcast is scheduled for Monday 04 October 2010 to cinemas in different time-zones.
