Hit National Theatre production One Man, Two Guvnors, starring Gavin & Stacey star James Cordon, will be broadcast live to cinema screens across the country next month as part of the NT Live season. The performance on Thursday 15th September 2011 will be shown live in selected cinemas in the UK, Europe and the U.S. The show’s sold-out run at the National Theatre ends on Monday 19th September 2011. It then goes on a five-week UK tour before transferring into the Adelphi Theatre from Tuesday 8th November 2011. |
The Feel-Good Hit of the summer!The action of Carlo Goldoni’s 18th century Venetian comedy ‘The Servant of Two Masters’ is relocated to 1960s Brighton in this hilarious new adaptation by Richard Bean. James Corden plays Francis Henshall, a minder to East End enforcer Roscoe Crabbe who has come to the seaside town to collect a debt from his fiancée’s father. However, Roscoe is really his sister Rachel posing as her own dead brother. Roscoe has been murdered by Rachel’s boyfriend, a toff named Stanley Stubbers, who has gone into hiding from the police. Holed up at the Cricketers’ Arms, Francis can’t resist taking a second job with Stanley. The only catch is that to prevent discovery he must keep his two gangland guvnors apart. Opening in the West End this NovemberOne Man, Two Guvnors opens at the Adelphi Theatre on Monday 21st November 2011 (following previews from Tuesday 8th November). The production will be booking until Saturday 25th February 2012. Richard Bean’s other plays include England People Very Nice, The Heretic, Harvest, Honeymoon Suite, Toast, The Big Fellah and Under the Whaleback.
