Phantom's New Home

Love Never Dies is set to open at the Adelphi Theatre next Monday, the famed sequel to The Phantom Of The Opera, but since the disappearance of the Phantom from the Paris Opera house, where will he now reside?

Coney Island

Although not much is known about what is going to happen in the new show, Coney Island is the official new lair for the Phantom. Coney Island is a peninsula in the southernmost part of Brooklyn, New York City. The island, with its two mile stretch of beach, was famed in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s for its amusement parks, beaches, snack stands, family businesses and piers.

But like the Phantom, things were not what they seem, behind the sunny gloss there were gangsters, gambling rings, illegal boxing, con men and petty thieves. Travellers set up stalls selling stories and mysterious foreign land goods, as well as bringing socially branded “Freaks & Outcasts” who where thrust into freak shows and psychic parlours, with people from all over coming to witness. Having been rescued from a freak show himself, it is no wonder the Phantom returns to a familiar setting after the heart break he endured at the Paris Opera House with Christine Daaé.

Love Never Dies

Love Never Dies, already apparent from the promotional banners, would suggest a darker edge this time around. Fun fairs throughout history have always had the element for being scary and the complete opposite of fun. Will the new show see the Phantom finally being triumphant, after he has lured Christine and her now husband Raoul to the island?

All will be revealed this Monday when the show opens for previews. Guaranteed to big a big hit like its predecessor The Phantom Of The Opera, book your Love Never Dies tickets here now.
