Seymour-Marsh Goes Full Time in Million Dollar Quartet

Oliver Seymour-Marsh, who has been playing the character of 'Carl Perkins' at certain performances in Million Dollar Quartet, will take on the role full time later this month, replacing Robert Britton Lyons in the main cast line up. Britton Lyons will play his final performance on 26 March 2011 before returning to the Broadway production of the show. Million Dollar Quartet opened at the Noel Coward Theatre on 28 February 2011, after previews from 08 February.

Oliver Seymour-Marsh’s theatre credits includes: Buddy Holly in Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story (International Shows and UK tour), Hero in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Tom in Ladies Down Under and Aladdin in Aladdin (2010 Hornchurch Queen's rep season).

The cast includes former Coronation Street star Bill Ward as Sun Records founder ‘Sam Phillips’, Ben Goddard as ‘Jerry Lee Lewis’, Derek Hagen as ‘Johnny Cash’, Francesca Jackson as ‘Dyanne’, and Michael Malarkey as ‘Elvis Presley’.

Million Dollar Quartet is the award-winning new musical that tells the electrifying story of the events that took place on 04 December 1956 at Sun Records in Memphis when Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis were brought together by charismatic studio boss Sam Phillips (the man who discovered all four of the musicians) to create a night of unforgettable night of music. The show features many of the songs made famous by the quartet, including Carl Perkins’ 'Blue Suede Shoes', Johny Cash’s 'I Walk the Line', Elvis Presley’s 'Hound Dog' and the Jerry Lee Lewis’ classic, 'Great Balls Of Fire'.

Quartet Proves a Broadway Hit

Million Dollar Quartet has been playing on Broadway since March 2010 and at Chicago's Apollo Theatre since October 2008. Robert Britton Lyons, who plays 'Carl Perkins', made his Broadway debut in the show and has played in all previous productions. A number of notable musicians, including Rockabilly performer Gez Gerrard and drummer Adam Riley, feature in supporting roles in the West End show.
