West End Theatre Breaks
The cast for next year's London production of Shrek the Musical has been confirmed. Nigel Harman and Nigel Lindsay will play the roles of evil ruler Lord Farquaar and loveable ogre Shrek respectively. The two Nigel's join Amanda Holden (Princess Fiona) and Richard Blackwood (Donkey) in the show, which is set to open at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, sometime in June. |

Dreamworks Back a Great Idea The Broadway show came about when acclaimed Director Sam Mendes, a huge fan of the original film, suggested the idea of creating a musical to Dreamworks head honcho, Jeffrey Katzenberg. Shrek the Musical features a book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize-winner David Lindsay-Abaire, music by Olivier Award-winner Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie), and will be directed by Tony Award nominee Jason Moore (Avenue Q) and Rob Ashford (Promises, Promises). |
