The Railway Children Cast Update

Craig Warnock has joined the cast of The Railway Children at the Waterloo Station Theatre, replacing comedian Marcus Brigstocke in the role of Station Porter ‘Perks’.

The actor recently played the same part in the superb Toronto production. His other theatre credits include Trainspotting and Betrayal. His film credits include St Roz, Cinderella Man and Mutant X.

The cast of The Railway Children continues to feature Pandora Clifford as Mother, David Baron as the Old Gentleman, Mark Holgate as Jim, Elizabeth Keats as Mrs Perks, Tim Lewis as Peter, Stephen Beckett as the Father and Doctor, Amy Noble as Roberta, Blair Plant as Shepansky, Amanda Prior as Mrs Viney and Cook and Grace Rowe as Phyllis.

E. Nesbit’s Wonderful Story

The enchanting family drama follows the adventures of three children, Bobby, Peter and Phyllis, whose lives change dramatically when their father is taken away by the government and they move with their mother to live in a remote cottage in the Yorkshire countryside. They soon become friends with the local station porter and learn to create their own amusement by the side of the railway tracks and along the nearby canal. They also watch the trains that run past their house and wave to the passengers, one of whom, the Old Gentleman, who will come to play a more important role in their lives than they could have ever imagined!

The Railway Children will end its London run on Sunday 8th January 2012.
