A West End Revolution for Over 25 YearsLondon’s longest running show recently celebrated a quarter of a century of epic drama and unforgettable music in the West End with a special anniversary concert at London’s O2 Arena. The show had its West End premiere at the Barbican Centre in 1985 after being adapted from an earlier French version that had caught the attention of theatre impresario Cameron Mackintosh. After 19 years in prison Jean Valjean is released on parole. He changes his name and soon rises to become a small town factory owner and mayor. Several years later, the city of Paris descends into unrest and the students prepare for a bloody uprising. As Valjean appears in search of a young girl, the barricades are built and battle for the streets begins. |

Fans Love the Golden Age of Rock MusicWe Will Rock You has been entertaining musical theatre fans and Queen aficionados since May 2002 at the Dominion Theatre. The fast-paced show features 32 of Queen’s biggest hard rock hits including "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Killer Queen", "Seven Seas of Rhye" and "We Will Rock You". Set in a dystopian future where the Earth’s population is stifling under the rigid control of the Globalsoft Corporation, We Will Rock You tells the story of a group of rebels who believe that the return of a lost golden age of freedom and music will be brought about by a saviour who can harness the power of a mighty axe hidden by a great guitar god. We Will Rock You carried off the audience award at the recent 2011 Laurence Olivier Awards. The current cast is led by former Coronation Street star Kevin Kennedy, alongside Brenda Edwards, Ricardo Afonso and Sarah French. |
