Waiting for Godot Back at the Haymarket

Sir Ian McKellen and Ronald Pickup return to the Theatre Royal Haymarket in January 2010 with Samuel Beckett’s matchless tragicomedy ‘Waiting for Godot’. Patrick Stewart and Simon Callow may have moved on, but with Matthew Kelly and Roger Rees stepping in the production easily re-establishes itself as a top West End draw.

The Mysterious Godot

A pair of men, Vladimir and Estragon, meet by the roadside and wait through one day and then another for the mysterious Godot to arrive. To occupy themselves the men eat, sleep, argue and soliloquise. The bullying Pozzo and his slave Lucky pass through, but Godot’s appearance remains a distant hope.

Don’t Miss Your Second Chance

‘Waiting for Godot’ will reopen at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 21 January 2010. ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’, starring ‘Six Feet Under’ star Anna Friel, is currently playing at the venue.

Matthew Kelly has appeared extensively on stage and television. He won Best Actor at the 2004 Olivier Awards for his role in Birmingham Rep’s ‘Of Mice and Men’.

Roger Rees’s has many credits with the Royal Shakespeare Company, alongside a significant number of film and television roles, including ‘Cheers’ and ‘The West Wing’.

Starring:
