West End Theatre Breaks
Avenue Q is not the most upmarket of New York streets, and is about as far away from Park Avenue as you can get, but it is home to some lively and off the wall characters performed by an unholy comedic alliance of humans and puppets! Princeton, a bright-eyed colleg graduate, has just moved to this neighbourhood as he desperately tries to follow his dreams and discover his ever-elusive purpose in life. A tiny bank balance, the distraction of a busty blonde and a variety of weird and wonderful friends and neighbours lead Princeton on a hilarious story of self-discovery.
Contains explicit adult scenes. Strictly ages 12+.
Avenue Q is the down and out street in New York where monsters and humans alike reside. The story is based around the hilarious obstacles encountered by a young man trying to find his purpose in life. From one-night stands to unemployment, every problem has a song that has the audience in tears. From a monster with an unhealthy porn addiction to the ‘Bad Idea Bears,’ the sets, acting and delivery cannot be faulted. Avenue Q is a fantastic night out. But it is not for the faint-hearted, the easily offended or anyone with a fear of fur!
On 28 March 2009, Avenue Q will close at the Noel Coward Theatre. Performances will resume on 1 June at Shaftesbury Avenue's Gielgud Theatre.
