Two years after picking up the if.comedy Best Newcomber award at the Edinburgh Fringe, Tom Basden brings his beguiling and statlingly accomplished Fring first wining debut play to London Arts Theatre for limited West End run.
In a humble garden shed in deepest suburbia, four young idealists have decided to form a new political party to save the world from itself. The new fifth member, Duncan, sets about saving the world from them. Party is about small minds tackling big issues - China, sex trafficking, cycle lanes, unfair trade coffee, whether to call the party 'The Friendly Party' or 'Gladios', and when they should break to eat a cake.
Tom Basden, writer, stars alongside comics, Anna Crilly, Tim Key, Jonny Sweet and Katy Wix. The play comes to the West Ends Arts Theatre after already receiving awards and critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe.
