West End Theatre Breaks
The classic tale of The Wizard of Oz comes to the West End as a full length musical, with the legendary Andrew Lloyd Webber having composed new additional songs for the show, to enhance EY Harburg and Harold Arlen's famous score, which includes suchclassics as 'We're Off to See the Wizard' and the Oscar winning 'Over the Rainbow'.
The show is in connection with the reality TV show 'Over The Rainbow', which has spent the last few months searching for a Dorothy and Toto. The story, made famous by the 1939 film starring Judy Garland, is based on the original work by L. Frank Baum.

The Wizard of Oz tells the unforgettable story of Kansas farm girl Dorothy, who dreams her way to the Land of Oz. Dorothy must follow the yellow brick road to the Emerald City in order to get back home. On her travels, she makes friends and enlists the help of a Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the cowardly Lion. The only thing that stands in their way is the Wicked Witch of the West, who will kill to have Dorothy’s ruby slippers.

The Wizard of Oz opens on 01 March 2011 at the London Palladium, produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Bill Kenwright, and is already backed by a swell of publicity that accompanied 18 year old Danielle Hope winning the BBC talent......
