West End Theatre Breaks
Singer/songwriter David Essex has put his talents into writing a new musical for the West End, collaborating with Boogie Nights creator Jon Conway. All The Fun Of The Fair will play at the Garrick Theatre after a successful UK Tour. The show is based on Essex s 1975 album of the same name.
The musical tells the story of Levi Lee, a fun fair owner who is recently widowed and father of a typical teenage son. According to the gypsy fortune teller he is in store for mystical and dangerous times. The gypsy just so happens to be in love with him. The musical includes many of Essex s well known songs, including a Winter s Tale, Gonna Make You A Star, Rock On and the title track.

The show opens at the Garrick Theatre after a successful UK tour.

Essex is best known as a recording artist, with his career spanning four decades, clocking numerous hit singles and albums. Essex has also crossed over to West End, treading the boards as Jesus in Godspell in 1972 and Che in Evita in 1978. Since his West End stint he has combined his stage work with his recording career. All The Fun Of the Fair comes to the West End following a successful UK tour which included London’s New Wimbledon theatre earlier this year.
