A group of extraordinary women, members of a very ordinary Yorkshire WI, persuade one another to pose for a charity calendar with a difference! Overcoming their initial reserve, the friends drop their dressing gowns, modesty spared only by artfully placed cakes, knitting and flower arrangements. Puzzling their husbands, mortifying their children, and riding the wrath of the outraged WI, they spark a global phenomenon. As interest snowballs, the CALENDAR GIRLS find themselves revealing more thanthey'd ever planned. Calendar Girls boasts a stellar cast including Jerry Hall, June Brown, Jill Halfpenny, Anita Dobson, Jack Ryder and Gemma Atkinson.

Hotly anticipated and frequently rumoured for several years, Tim Firth’s stage adaptation of his own 2003 smash hit film comes to London straight from the hugely successful regional tour that followed its sellout premiere season at Chichester Festival Theatre.

Firth’s Calendar Girls is based the true story of Women’s Institute member Angela Baker, who convinced her fellow members to pose for an ‘alternate WI calendar’ to raise money for the hospital where her late husband had been treated for cancer. The impact the clandar had surpassed all expectations and has gone on to raise £1.3million for their chosen cancer charity. The film also captured imaginations worldwide with its heartwarming story and impressive cast. The stage play boasts an equally stellar lineup including Jerry Hall, June Brown, Jill Halfpenny, Anita Dobson, Jack Ryder, Sara Crowe and Gemma Atkinson. Calendar Girls is directed by writer and comedian Hamish McColl.

All New Calendar Girls

As autumn turns to winter change is in the air for the Calendar Girls. A new cast, featuring former Coronation Street personality Julie Goodyear and actress and model Kelly Brook, will star in the show from early November. They will be joined some other familiar faces from the small-screen, including Helen Lederer, Jan Leeming, Janie Dee, Debbie Chazen, Arabella Weir and Rob James Collier.

For a Good Cause ‘A British Story with a British Heart’, Calendar Girls tells the tale of the Yorkshire Women’s Institute Members who made a charity calendar with a difference. Since 1999 the real-life Calendar Girls have raised over £1.5 million for Leukaemia Research and had their story re-enacted on both stage and screen. The booking fee from the stage show continues to be donated to Leukaemia Research, together with a percentage of royalties and merchandising sales.
The Changeover The Calendar Girls cast change will occur from 3 November 2009 for a limited 10 week run at the Noel Coward Theatre.
