We Will Rock You

This is a real fun, sensational Musical Comedy. Rock band Queen joins forces with writer Ben Elton to bring their unique sound to theatreland. Set in the future when musical instruments have been banned, it's up to a group of anarchists, The Bohemians, to rediscover Rock. The sets are amazing, it features over 30 of Queens most famous hits and the cast are fantastic.

We Will Rock You delivers a feel-good, fast-paced journey into the future where musical instruments are no longer allowed and a gang of misfits search to regain what has been lost.  A clever and funny script by Ben Elton combines with the ageless music of Queen and brilliant sets to make for an evening to remember.

Three Long-Runners Extend Their West End Stay

Three of the West End’s longest running shows have announced plans to extend their booking periods in the coming months. Audience favourite We Will Rock You has announced a four month extension to its booking period, with tickets on sale until 22 October 2011. Revolutionary epic Les Miserables has extended its booking period until 28 April 2012. Finally, the world’s longest running play The Mousetrap has added another six months at the box office. Tickets for the Agatha Christie murder-mystery will soon be available up to 12 November 2011.

Les Misiserables

A West End Revolution for Over 25 Years

London’s longest running show recently celebrated a quarter of a century of epic drama and unforgettable music in the West End with a special anniversary concert at London’s O2 Arena. The show had its West End premiere at the Barbican Centre in 1985 after being adapted from an earlier French version that had caught the attention of theatre impresario Cameron Mackintosh. After 19 years in prison Jean Valjean is released on parole. He changes his name and soon rises to become a small town factory owner and mayor. Several years later, the city of Paris descends into unrest and the students prepare for a bloody uprising. As Valjean appears in search of a young girl, the barricades are built and battle for the streets begins.

Fans Love the Golden Age of Rock Music

We Will Rock You has been entertaining musical theatre fans and Queen aficionados since May 2002 at the Dominion Theatre. The fast-paced show features 32 of Queen’s biggest hard rock hits including "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Killer Queen", "Seven Seas of Rhye" and "We Will Rock You". Set in a dystopian future where the Earth’s population is stifling under the rigid control of the Globalsoft Corporation, We Will Rock You tells the story of a group of rebels who believe that the return of a lost golden age of freedom and music will be brought about by a saviour who can harness the power of a mighty axe hidden by a great guitar god. We Will Rock You carried off the audience award at the recent 2011 Laurence Olivier Awards. The current cast is led by former Coronation Street star Kevin Kennedy, alongside Brenda Edwards, Ricardo Afonso and Sarah French.

No End in Sight for the World’s Longest Running Show

Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap is the world’s longest running stage play, and has been enjoyed by West End audiences since November 1952. A classic whodunit, The Mousetrap sees eight strangers stranded at a remote guesthouse with a murderer seemingly in their midst. At the end of each performance the audience are sworn to secrecy, keeping the killers identity a mystery until the next show.  For the last 36 years the St Martin's Theatre has been home to the record breaking production, after playing for 20 years next door at the Ambassadors!
